Newly elected BJP MLAs in Faridabad and Palwal districts have wasted no time in getting to work, holding meetings with officials and issuing directives to resolve various local issues. Some of these MLAs are also hopeful for a Cabinet berth in the state government, which is expected to be sworn in soon.

Vipul Goel, the newly elected MLA from Faridabad, held a meeting with district administration officials within 24 hours of the election results. He issued clear instructions, warning of strict action if issues such as cleanliness and waste disposal were not resolved within a week. Similarly, Dhanesh Adlakha, the newly elected MLA from the Badkhal constituency, met officials and cautioned against delays in ongoing projects, urging immediate improvement in civic amenities.

Both Goel and Adlakha emphasised the need for swift progress on development projects, which had slowed due to the election’s model code of conduct. “Improvement in civic amenities is a top priority, and we will personally oversee the progress,” they said.

Former minister and MLA from Ballabgarh, Mool Chand Sharma, inspected the local grain market to monitor the procurement of kharif crops. Accompanied by district officials, he urged them to ensure timely crop purchase and address any grievances farmers may have. Gaurav Gautam, the newly elected MLA from Palwal, also visited the grain market to oversee the procurement process, assuring farmers that all crops would be purchased at the minimum support price (MSP).

Meanwhile, several BJP MLAs are reportedly vying for Cabinet positions. Mool Chand Sharma, who has served as a Cabinet minister for two terms and secured a third consecutive win in Ballabhgarh, is considered one of the frontrunners. Vipul Goel, who defeated the Congress candidate in Faridabad by a margin of 48,388 votes, and Rajesh Nagar, who won his second consecutive term from Tigaon, are also seen as strong contenders.

Additionally, Gaurav Gautam from Palwal and Harinder Singh from Hodal are being considered for Cabinet positions, having defeated heavyweight Congress leaders in their respective constituencies. Gautam ousted veteran Congress leader Karan Singh Dalal, while Harinder Singh triumphed over state Congress party chief Udai Bhan. Dalal and Bhan are five-time and four-time MLAs, respectively.

The BJP retained seven of the nine Assembly seats in Faridabad and Palwal districts, matching its performance in the 2019 elections.
