Caretaker Chief Minister and Ladwa candidate Nayab Singh Saini won Ladwa Assembly seat by 16,054 votes, defeating his nearest rival and Congress candidate Mewa Singh.

According to the EC, Nayab Saini polled 70,177 votes, while outgoing MLA and Congress candidate Mewa Singh managed to bag 54,123 votes.

Independent candidate Vikramjeet Singh got 11,191 votes, Indian National Lok Dal’s Sapna Barshami 7,439 votes, BJP rebel and Independent candidate Sandeep Garg got 2,262 votes, AAP’s Joga Singh 632 votes, Independent Kashyap Ram Chander 611, Ashok Saini 415, Bhajan Singh 265, JJP’s Vinod Kumar 205, Bhartiya Shakti Chetra Party 144, People Party of India (Democratic) 133 votes, Independents Rajkumar 100, Satish Kumar 69, Subhash Saini 48 and Parveen Kumar got 43 votes.

Caretaker CM Nayab Saini said, “I am grateful to the people of Ladwa and the 2.8 crore people of Haryana who have kept their faith in the policies of Narendra Modi and the BJP. This is the victory of farmers, poor, women and youths who have elected us for the third time. I am also grateful to the party workers who did all the hard work to ensure that the BJP is going to make its government for the historic third time. The double-engine government will develop Haryana with a rapid pace. We will continue to work with honesty and dedication for the people of Haryana.” The BJP had made all efforts to secure the win for Saini, who is also the party’s CM face.
