MLAs to soon get laptops and printers
Haryana Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan today initiated efforts to make the Assembly completely paperless. On Thursday, he visited the NEVA (National e-Vidhan Application) service centre established in the Assembly Secretariat and studied the intricacies of the e-Vidhan system.
Kalyan has directed Hartron officials to provide laptops or tablets and printers, among other electronic gadgets, to all legislators. In this regard, he held a detailed discussion with Hartron's managing director J Ganeshan and senior officials. Meanwhile, the Speaker has also planned training for all legislators to familiarise them with the NEVA system, which will take place before the budget session.
On Thursday, the Speaker obtained comprehensive information about the e-Vidhan application system at the NEVA service centre and praised the IT team for the successful implementation of the NEVA project. He has also requested information on NEVA implementation in other states and instructed officials to study the best practices of all states. If any states are implementing better practices, those should be adopted as well.
