In a bid to improve the lives of people of Dabwali, MLA Aditya Devilal has submitted a letter to the Haryana Assembly Speaker, urging the government to address the region’s pressing needs. A major highlight of the letter is the demand to grant Dabwali the status of a district, a proposal that the MLA has emphasised as a priority.

In his letter, Devilal said Dabwali was a large subdivision in Sirsa district, with a vast population and numerous villages. Residents of the area currently had to travel 60-90 km to Sirsa for work and other essential activities, it read. He reminded the government that the demand for Dabwali’s district status had previously been considered by the BJP government, with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar acknowledging the need for it. Devilal had now requested Chief Minister Nayab Saini, through the Speaker, to act quickly on this demand.

In addition to the district status, Devilal raised several other key concerns for the development of Dabwali. He called for the establishment of a drug rehabilitation centre in the area and social organisations to be involved in supporting and funding the initiative. He also highlighted the urgent need to improve the electricity infrastructure in Dabwali, citing overloading in transformers and powerhouses. He urged the authorities to strengthen the power supply before the upcoming summer season.

Devilal stressed the importance of reviving the irrigation system in the agriculture-based region as the canals and drains had been in a poor condition for two decades. He called for their immediate reconstruction to ensure adequate water supply for farming.
