MLA Aditya Devi Lal Chautala conducted a surprise inspection at the Dabwali Municipal Council office, where he discovered that 24 sanitation workers, including the one assigned to his own residence, were deployed at the homes of various politicians and officials, instead of being in the field on Thursday. He immediately ordered that all such workers be recalled and warned strict action against officials if similar assignments were given to MC workers.

The MLA reviewed attendance records and questioned how sanitation workers were being managed. A five-member committee, formed the previous day, accompanied him during the inspection. Sub-Inspector Shiv Kumar informed him that while the contractor had a total of 50 workers, only 40 were actively working, with several either on leave or having been removed. Displeased, Chautala pointed out the lack of proper record and told officials to focus on maintaining cleanliness in the city.

Chautala was firm in his stance, stating, “Remove workers from the residences of all politicians and officials. Their duty is to clean the city, not work at homes. If anyone needs personal help, they should hire workers at their own expense.” He said this misuse of public resources should not happen in the future.

Following his directive, the municipal council issued immediate instructions to all such employees to return to their field duties, leading to a flurry of calls from officials and politicians questioning the decision. However, municipal officials stood firm, citing the MLA’s orders and suggesting that any objections be taken up directly with him.

Rajendra Soni, Executive Officer of Dabwali Municipal Council, confirmed, “The MLA conducted a surprise inspection and we have complied with his orders to reassign workers to field duties.”
