MLA holds meet to redress issue of choked sewerage in Dadri

BJP MLA from Dadri Assembly segment Suneel Sangwan on Friday held a meeting with top officials of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for a permanent solution to the problem of choked sewerage and drainage in Dadri town.

The BJP MLA has called officials of the PHED from the headquarters at Chandigarh. The officials, including Chief Engineer Pradeep Poonia, Superintendent Engineer Dalbir Singh and Executive Engineer Sohan Lal, along with the BJP MLA, jointly conducted a survey of the town.

Sangwan said that it was part of his pre-poll promises to take measures to resolve the drinking water and sewerage issues in Dadri town. "The senior officials assessed the situation and prepared a master plan for permanent solutions to water and sewerage problems, he said.

During the inspection, Sangwan and the officials reviewed the overall civic infrastructure. The MLA directed the officials to ensure the permanent resolution of the sewerage problem before the onset of monsoon season and to address the drinking water issues within the next six months.

The action followed the meeting of Sangwan with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh. Sangwan has apprised the CM about the problems.

The team visited several locations, including Loharu Chowk, Mahendergarh Chowk, Kalyana Road, Kabir Nagar, New Grain Market, Vegetable Market and the Sewage Treatment Plant to inspect the existing sewerage and water systems. The officials assured the MLA that the sewerage system would be permanently addressed before the rainy season and the installation of new sewer lines would begin at locations lacking coverage. Additionally, work on replacing old water pipelines and ensuring clean drinking water would commence soon.

Sangwan said that the development promises made during the election campaign were now being implemented on the ground. He directed the relevant officials to complete their tasks within the prescribed timeline and in accordance with the master plan. He also mentioned that the upcoming months would witness visible development in Dadri Assembly segment. He applauded Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for his commitment to the development of Dadri segment adding that it was due to the CM's seriousness that development projects were gaining momentum.
