As part of its ‘Mission-2024’, the ruling BJP is set to kick off a massive outreach programme from July 28 across Haryana in the run-up to the upcoming Assembly election.

HSGPC spokesman, supporters join BJP

Kanwaljit Singh Ajarana, spokesman of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (HSGPC), along with scores of his supporters, joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday

Election plans discussed

A meeting under the chairmanship of Union Education Minister and Haryana Assembly election incharge Dharmendra Pradhan was held in New Delhi on Friday to discuss preparations for the Assembly polls. Pradhan took feedback from senior leaders on the poll preparations besides fine-tuning the massive outreach programme to be launched by the party in the coming days

While BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli will kick-start the BJP campaign from July 28, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will take to the ground on August 2 to spice up the BJP’s campaign for the forthcoming Assembly poll.

The broad contours of the programme were finalised at recent meetings held under the chairmanship of Haryana Assembly election incharge Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP Haryana incharge Satish Punia. “The massive outreach programme has been chalked out on the directions of the party high command as a part of ‘Mission-2024’ to reach out to voters to form the government for the third time in a row after the Assembly poll,” BJP general secretary Krishan Bedi said.

The BJP wants the Chief Minister and BJP chief to address meetings in all 90 Assembly constituencies in the run-up to the Assembly poll. The rallies, slated to be completed before the enforcement of the model code of conduct, would go a long way in gearing up the party cadre for the poll before the model code of conduct, sources said.

The conclusion of rallies by Saini and Badoli before the model code of conduct would provide ample time to the saffron party to plan the visits of its ‘star campaigners’ comprising senior central leaders and Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled states in the last leg of the campaign just before the October Assembly poll.

Besides the Chief Minister and party president, the party will assign the areas to the BJP functionaries, including state ministers and legislators, to launch the election campaign in the run-up to the elections.

The programmes planned by the BJP leadership included ‘chai pe charcha’ with BJP workers, about 25 sammelans of various social, cultural and religious organisations besides other outreach programmes to woo voters. The ultimate aim is to strengthen the party organisation at the booth level to gear up the party cadre for the Assembly poll, sources said.
