Expressing dissatisfaction over unclean toilets, Vij ordered the suspension of Station Supervisor (SS) Sunil Kumar. Additionally, he suspended driver Monu after witnessing passengers pushing a faulty bus to start it, which was then put into operation.

The minister was going to Chandigarh from Sirsa and stopped unexpectedly at the Kaithal bus stand on Friday evening. Observing a bus being manually pushed to start, he followed up with a visit to the SS’s office, where staff were absent from duty. He then inspected a food stall and raised concerns about the quality of packaged drinking water being sold there. Dissatisfied with the vendor’s response, he immediately asked the officials to collect samples for testing.

Vij also inspected a private bus, questioning the driver and conductor about the schedule and ticketing process. He instructed the General Manager Kaithal depot to monitor ticketing practices on private buses as well.

Vij expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of cleanliness and ordered Roadways officials to ensure 24x7 water and sanitation facilities, with the regular use of cleaning agents like phenyl.

Vij announced that the District Grievance Redressal Committee meeting for Kaithal would be held on the second Friday every month.
