The curriculum of BSc and MSc courses in microbiology will be upgraded and revised to meet international standards by setting a benchmark across the country, said Prof RC Kuhad, president of the Academy of the Microbiological Sciences (AMSC).

He said this while interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of the ongoing international conference in the Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST) here today.

Prof Kuhad, former Vice-Chancellor of Central University Haryana, Mahendragarh, said the curriculum would be made uniform across the country. “Benchmarks will be set for the curriculum so that Indian students will not face any problem in pursuing further studies abroad. Indian curriculum will also be designed as per the global levels,” he said, adding that a team of selected microbiologists of the country would prepare this curriculum and experts from the industrial sector would also be taken on board during the exercise.
