Mental health awareness rally in Rohtak
An awareness rally was taken out on the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) campus in order to make people aware of mental health on the occasion of World Mental Health Day.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh flagged off the rally and said that giving due importance to mental health was the need of the hour. The university administration will support all innovative initiatives to promote mental well-being and happiness of the university community, he added.
Sharanjeet Kaur, Chairperson of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), said positive psychological intervention is required to tackle the wide prevailing mental health issues.
MDU Registrar Gulshan Lal Taneja sang an inspiring song to motivate the students. Prof Sarvdeep Kohli, Head, Dept of Psychology, while expressing gratitude to all present on the occasion, said that the Happitude Laboratory and Department of Psychology would try to promote happiness and mental well-being on campus and outside the campus. The rally and the talk programme were co-ordinated by Incharge(s) of Happitude Laboratory Anjali Malik and Deepti Hooda.
AS Maan, Dean, Academic Affairs, and Randeep Rana, Dean, Students’ Welfare, were also present on the occasion while Pratigya Siwach conducted the stage in the talk programme.
The programme was organised jointly by Happitude Laboratory, Dept of Psychology and DSW office of the university.
