Gurugram MC told to register FIR if debris not cleared in 2 days
Gurugram, July 5
Gurugram Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Chandra Bidhan has directed the private agency hired by the Municipal Corporation to clear construction and demolition (C&D) waste from Sector 29 within two days. He further asked the MC officials to lodge an FIR against it in case it fails to do the job in time.
He also instructed the MC officials to chargesheet the senior sanitation inspector for laxity in cleanliness system at Chakkarpur village. He said this while presiding over a meeting to review the cleanliness drive underway in the city and arrangements being made to prevent waterlogging under the campaign.
DM Nishant Kumar Yadav, MC Additional Commissioner Dr Balpreet Singh and all the nodal officers appointed for monitoring the sanitation drive attended the meeting.
Bidhan said all nodal officers should ensure that polythene wasn’t seen on roads and garbage was not dumped on green belts. He said nodal officers should also ensure that all the spots vulnerable to garbage dumping were cleaned regularly and eliminated as soon as possible.
Taking cognisance of the fact that the hired firm was not providing 100 per cent manpower for sanitation work, Bidhan said the MC should prepare a daily list of manpower being provided by the agency and hold back the payment corresponding to the absent manpower and issue notices to the agency on a daily basis. He also instructed the agency to prepare a detailed schedule of door to door garbage collection system.
