“These works will help in providing basic facilities to people and in beautifying the twin cities and rural areas of the MCYJ,” said Ayush Sinha, Commissioner of the MCYJ.

He said the works would be started as soon as the tendering process was completed.

He said the MCYJ was making efforts to initiate development works in all areas under its jurisdiction.

“Our main aim is to provide paved roads and good infrastructure in all wards,” said Ayush Sinha.

He said that the pace of development had slowed down after the implementation of the model code of conduct due to the Lok Sabha elections but works were now being done at a rapid pace.

The MCYJ will construct a community centre for backward classes at Jaroda village; two rooms, a kitchen, a toilet and a shed at a dharamshala at Shadipur village; Valmiki Chaupal in Raipur village; a kitchen and toilets at Ambedkar Bhawan in Pansara village and a crematorium shed and boundary wall of the cremation ground at Bhoot Majra village.

Besides, a community centre at Phusgarh village, a hall room and a toilet at Valmiki temple of Sasauli village will be constructed.

Sinha said they were also focusing on sanitation work and cleaning work of nullahs and sewers.

“A special drive is being run to clean the nullahs and sewerage in the twin cities so that people don’t have to face waterlogging during rains,” he said.
