The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has started the second phase of fogging to prevent mosquito-borne diseases.

Under the supervision of Chief Sanitary Inspectors (CSIs), the MCYJ has formed separate teams for both zones to undertake fogging work.

The teams of the MCYJ will undertake fogging work in one ward each of both zones every day so that people could get rid of mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, malaria, chikungunya and other fevers.

“The second phase of fogging was started from Ward-1 of Zone-I and Ward-12 of Zone-II on Thursday. On Friday, fogging was done in Ward-2 and Ward-13,” said CSI Sunil Dutt.

He said there are two big machines and 12 small machines for fogging in both zones.

“Fogging is being done on the main road and wide streets by placing big machines on utility vehicles of the MCYJ,” said CSI Sunil Dutt.

He said fogging was being done in small streets of colonies and villages with the help of small machines.

As per available information, teams of CSI Harjeet Singh did fogging on Ambala road, in Bhatauli village, Bhole Ka Majra village, Jai City (sector), Omaxe City (sector), Bilaspur road, Krishna Puri Colony, Police Lines, Nalagarh Majra, Hundewala, Teli Majra, Shyam Sundar Puri, Neelkanth Colony and other colonies.

Similarly, under the supervision of CSI Sunil Dutt, fogging was done in Badhi Majra village, Roop Nagar Colony, Tirth Nagar Colony, Shadipur Colony, Raipur village, Kami Majra village, Pansara village, Tajakpur village and other areas.

Deputy Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Pal Yadav said that fogging work was being done in every ward of the MCYJ.

He said that oil and medicines were being poured where it was difficult to drain out water, so that mosquito larvae did not breed in stagnant water.

He also appealed to the local residents not to let water accumulate around them.

“Wherever water is accumulated, pour some oil. Do not let water accumulate in containers kept on the roofs of houses,” said Vija Pal Yadav, Deputy Municipal Commissioner.
