MC starts garbage lifting at night in markets of Y'nagar, Jagadhri
The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), has started the work of collecting garbage at night time in the commercial areas of the twin cities.
The authorities claim that there will be no garbage outside shops in the morning.
A few days ago, Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha had instructed the sanitary officers to collect garbage from commercial areas at night.
Thereafter, the sanitary officers started getting the work done in both zones of the MCYJ.
Sinha said that in several commercial/market areas in the twin cities, including Model Town, Radaur Road, Kheda Mohalla, Meerabai Market, Railway Road, Jagadhari Bazaar, Bartan Bazaar, Jhanda Chowk, School Road and Civil Lines, garbage used to be collected throughout the day.
“It was difficult to collect garbage in these areas during the day as the markets are crowded. In such a situation, even after completion of cleaning work, garbage used to spread again on the streets,” said Ayush Sinha.
Door-to-door garbage collection is being done from commercial areas of zone-I under the leadership of Chief Sanitary Inspector Harjeet Singh.
In this zone, three tippers are engaged in collecting garbage from commercial areas at night.
On the other hand, the work of collecting garbage from commercial areas is being done under the leadership of Chief Sanitary Inspector Sunil Dutt.
CSI Sunil Dutt said that in zone two, five tippers had been engaged in collecting garbage at night in commercial areas of zone-II.
