In broad daylight, three bike-borne unidentified masked miscreants looted cash and gold ornaments from a jewellery showroom located at Katla market in Bawal town here. They also shot at the son of the showroom owner when the latter opposed them.

The police have started investigation following the complaint of the showroom owner Pritam Singh of Bawal in this respect. However, no clue about the looters was found till the filing of the report. The crime was perpetrated when Pritam and his son Hitendra were at the showroom in the morning.

“The masked miscreants barged into the showroom and pointed a pistol towards me. They smashed the showcase with a bamboo stick and looted gold ornaments. They also looted cash kept in the box. The looters fired upon my son when he resisted them. Hitendra suffered bullet injuries in his leg. He has been hospitalised,” said Pritam while talking to the media.
