Man wanted in 52 fake marksheet cases nabbed by Nuh police

The Nuh police have arrested a man with illegal weapons who was wanted in connection with 52 cases of making fake marksheets in Rajasthan. The accused had allegedly produced around 500 fake Class VIII marksheets, which were used by people for panchayat elections and other purposes in Rajasthan. The police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head.
According to the police, the arrested has been identified as Mohammad Yusuf, a resident of Umra village in Nuh district. He was arrested by Inspector Subhash from Khedla village on Tuesday. An illegal country-made pistol and a cartridge were seized from his possession. An FIR under the Arms Act has been registered against him at the Nuh city police station.
Ajaib Singh, DSP, Headquarters, Nuh, said 52 cases had been registered against Yusuf for making fake marksheets in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Police had placed separate rewards of Rs 25,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 on him in four different cases linked to the Jaisalmer, Nauhar, Hanumangarh and Sedwa police stations in Barmer for producing fake marksheets. In all cases, he has been declared a proclaimed offender.
“Additionally, during interrogation, the accused admitted to making 500 fake Class VIII marksheets and distributing them to people for panchayat elections and other purposes in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Police have also been informed about his arrest, and we are continuing to question him,” said the DSP.
