Man nabbed for murdering wife

The police on Monday arrested a man on the charge of killing his wife at Banchari village in the district.

According to the police, the suspect, identified as Nitesh, attacked his wife, Hema, over some domestic dispute on November 30, which resulted in her death. The suspect was reportedly upset over his wife visiting her parents’ house frequently without his permission.

The suspect reportedly fired at his wife from a country-made revolver on November 30 when she returned from her parents’ house after a gap of two months. The suspect, who was absconding after the incident, was arrested on Monday.

During investigation, the suspect confessed to have committed the crime in a fit of anger.

The couple were married five years ago and had a two-year-old daughter. The suspect will be taken on police remand for further investigation, said a police official. A case of murder has been registered in this regard.
