Man murders wife by pushing her off roof
The Gurugram police have arrested a bike mechanic for allegedly murdering his wife by pushing her from the roof of a dilapidated house in Wazirpur village. The accused initially misled the deceased’s family and the police, claiming that his wife had died after slipping and falling from the roof. However, he later confessed to murdering her.
The police received information about the incident on Tuesday night and promptly arrived at SGT Hospital, Budhera, where the woman, identified as Geeta (28), was declared dead.
Geeta’s father filed a police complaint, stating that his daughter had been beaten up by her husband and that, on Tuesday night, he had pushed her from the roof of a house in Wazirpur village, leading to her death. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Sector 10A police station on Wednesday.
The victim’s husband, identified as Dharam Singh, alias Dharmu, a native of Dausa district in Rajasthan, was arrested the same day. He resided with his wife in Shiv Enclave, Garhi Harsaru village, and worked as a bike mechanic.
“The accused initially tried to mislead us but later confessed that he regularly assaulted his wife. On Tuesday night, while consuming alcohol in a dilapidated house, his wife arrived, and an argument ensued. During the fight, he beat her up and pushed her from the terrace, resulting in her death. We are continuing to question the accused,” said Inspector Sandeep Kumar, SHO of the Sector 10A police station.
