Man held for supplying drugs
Kurukshetra: The Kurukshetra police have arrested a Punjab resident in connection with the recovery of 54-kg chura post last year. The accused, Buta Singh, is a resident of Ludhiana. He was produced before a court which sent him to jail. A police spokesman said, “On December 8 last year, the district police had recovered 54 kg chura post from a truck and its driver Baldev Singh was arrested. On Friday, supplier Buta Singh was arrested in this case. TNS
Body found near railway track
Rohtak: The body of Pradeep Kumar, a 35-year-old truck driver of Gudhan village in Rohtak district, was found lying near a railway track here on Saturday. Pradeep’s father Surajbhan told the police that his son had left home on Friday on his motorcycle. His body was found on Saturday, but his motorcycle and mobile phone were missing. The police have registered a case on the basis of the complaint lodged by Pradeep’s father. As per preliminary probe, Pradeep had been strangled and hit on the head and face. TNS
