Man held for posting threatening video in support of Cong MLA

The Nuh police have arrested a person for posting a threatening video, which purportedly supported Congress MLA Mamman Khan, on social media that went viral. The accused will be produced before a Nuh court tomorrow.

According to the police, the arrested has been identified as Aslam, a resident of Jhimrawat village in Nuh district.

Inspector Vimal Kumar, SHO of the Cyber Police Station in Nuh, said a video had surfaced on social media showing two youths discussing plans to shoot Khan’s opponents in the upcoming elections and demolish their houses using bulldozers. An FIR has been registered.

In the viral video, the youths claimed to be supporters of Khan. One of them explicitly stated that Khan is a leader who strongly advocates for his community, and that they only want him to win. He further threatened that anyone who opposes Khan would be shot and not spared. One of the youths in the video identified himself as a resident of Jhimrawat in Nuh district.

“One of them said in the video that development is not needed, only Khan’s victory is necessary, and that any talk of defeating him would not be tolerated. Both youths used obscene language in the video. One youth threatened to stand by a bulldozer and demolish the houses of those who oppose Khan. After the video went viral on social media, the Nuh police immediately took action, and arrested one of the accused, Aslam. We are currently questioning him,” said Inspector Vimal Kumar, the investigating officer.
