Man gets 5 yrs in jail for molesting minor

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Nuh Neeru Kamboj has sentenced a 52-year-old man to five years of imprisonment for molesting a five-year-old girl in 2022. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, Azru, and if he fails to pay the amount, his imprisonment shall be increased.

According to the complaint, Azru took the five-year-old girl to a secluded place by luring her with a toffee and molested her. When the girl informed her family members about the incident, they reached the police station and lodged an FIR at the Ferozpur Jhirka police station on October 6, 2022.

A spokesperson of the Nuh police said the accused was arrested four days after the registration of the FIR. The police collected all necessary evidence in the beginning. Apart from this, statements of the victim were also recorded as per her interrogation.

The special prosecutor said the cases were heard for about two years, however, during the hearing in the court, all main witnesses, including the victim’s kin, retracted their statements, but according to the statements of the victim girl, it was confirmed that she was molested, which the court accepted as the main evidence. “The case was prosecuted strongly with the cooperation of the police. On December 7, the court found the accused guilty. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Nuh Neeru Kamboj on Monday sentenced the convict to five years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him,” said the spokesperson.
