The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh claimed that the drive launched against the supply and smuggling of liquor after the imposition of the model code of conduct has resulted in the seizure of around 3,994 litres of illicit liquor in the district so far. The market value of the recovered liquor is reported to be Rs 14.61 lakh.
The seizure includes 5,299 bottles of country-made liquor and 133 bottles of India-made foreign liquor, according to officials. Several cases were registered by the police in this regard.
