In a press note issued after the meeting, it was jointly stated that it is the responsibility of the Congress, which is the main Opposition party, to mobilise all secular and democratic organisations and ensure the ouster of the BJP after 10 years of its misrule in the state. The meeting held the BJP government responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and the significant increase in crime.
