Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav, son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, on Saturday addressed poll meetings in Kharkara and Dharuhera town here to woo migrant labourers who reside in a considerable number in Rewari Assembly constituency.

He came here to seek votes for Congress candidate and his close relative Chiranjeev Rao, who is trying his luck in the poll battle from Rewari for the second time. Chiranjeev is the son of Ahir stalwart and former minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav.

Putting the BJP government in the dock, Yadav said, “The CBI and ED carried out raids on our premises but we did not leave the support of truth as my family never learnt to bow down. Similar is Chiranjeev’s family which has been serving Rewari for the past 50 years. Hence, you should vote for him for the betterment of your region.”

He said “The elections are like a religious war in Haryana. So sacrifice yourself in this religious war by making the Congress win. Many people from Bihar live in Dharuhera. I request them with folded hands to ensure the victory of Chiranjeev by a huge margin on October 5.”

Chiranjeev said his father, Capt Ajay Yadav, while serving as minister in then Congress government, worked a lot for the development of Dharuhera industrial town and Rewari city, but the BJP government had utterly failed to bring any major development project here in the past decade.

“The Congress has given seven guarantees in its manifesto and all these will be fulfilled on priority on coming to power. The people have made up their mind to oust the BJP from power this time,” he claimed.
