Kurukshetra University team to represent India at conference in US
Kurukshetra, July 19
The students of applied geophysics from the Department of Geophysics, Kurukshetra University, have been selected to represent India at the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) Evolve Project presentation during the prestigious IMAGE 2024 conference in Houston, Texas, USA.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Som Nath Sachdeva said the SEG programme emphasised global solutions for application to the world’s energy needs, enabling two branches: energy exploration and carbon lutions. He further said, “I am proud that our students will showcase their capabilities on a global stage. The selection of the Kurukshetra team for the SEG Evolve Project underscores the quality of education and research imparted at the KU.”
Registrar Professor Sanjeev Sharma applauded the efforts of the team and encouraged them to put in their best efforts at the conference.
Deputy Director Dr Jimmy Sharma said Rohit Chauhan (team leader), Abhishek Manwal and Ishika Aggarwal would represent the university at the international event, scheduled to take place in Houston from August 26 to 29.
Professor BS Chaudhary, Chairman, Department of Geophysics, said, “Our students have demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment.”
