Kurukshetra cops install reflectors on vehicles due to foggy condition

In view of the foggy conditions, the Kurukshetra police have started installing reflector tapes on heavy vehicles and auto-rickshaws to prevent accidents.

A police spokesman said on the directions of Superintendent of Police Varun Singla the traffic wing and the RTO officials started installing reflector tapes on heavy vehicles, autos, e-rickshaws and other commercial vehicles because the visibility had reduced during foggy days. The drivers failed to spot the vehicles and it led to accidents and sometime people also lost their lives. Reflectors helped the drivers in spotting other vehicles on road and it would help in preventing accidents.

The SHO, Traffic (City), Gurnam Singh, said, “During foggy conditions in winter, the number of accidents goes up. Awareness drives are being conducted and people are being advised to install reflector tapes on their vehicles. It will help the other drivers on the roads and reduce the chances of accidents. The commuters should remain vigilant, follow the norms and maintain their lanes while driving."
