No govt will be formed in Haryana without AAP's support: Kejriwal
Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal on Friday claimed that no political party would be able to form a government in Haryana without their support.
Holding his first election event in Haryana after walking out of jail in the Delhi excise policy case, Kejriwal said they would win enough seats to ensure no other party could form a government without their support. The state goes to the polls on October 5.
Kejriwal, who held a roadshow in Jagadhri city in support of party candidate Adarsh Pal Gurjar, said the BJP government in the state had offered nothing but corruption, unemployment, inflation and drug addiction to the people of the state.
“The people of Haryana have seen the work done by AAP in Delhi and Punjab. Therefore, they will vote for change this time,” said Kejriwal.
The former Delhi CM accused the BJP of putting him in jail in a false case. “I was kept in jail for five months. They (without naming the BJP government) tried hard to break me and tortured me in various ways. I was not given facilities that normal prisoners get. They even stopped my medicines for some days. I don’t know what they wanted to do with me?” claimed Kejriwal.
Seeking to strike a chord with the people of the state, he said: “They (BJP) wanted to break me but they didn’t know I am from Haryana. Its blood runs in my veins.”
He said the state voter would “avenge” the injustice done to him. “They sent me to jail, now people of Haryana will vote them out,” said Kejriwal.
Jagadhri used to be a hub of brass utensils, but the industry had been ruined due to the wrong policies of the government, he alleged.
Gurjar, who had finished third in the 2019 Assembly election from Jagadhri on the BSP ticket, is up against BJP minister Kanwar Pal.
AAP state president Dr Sushil Gupta was among those present at the event.
