Karnal MC’s Samadhan Shivir receives 67 complaints in five days
The state government’s initiative of holding ‘Samadhan Shivir’ in the civic bodies has seen good response. In the first five working days of the initiative, the Samadhan Shivir of the Karnal Municipal Corporation (KMC) has received 67 complaints, of which 34 have been resolved, while 33 are pending at various levels.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed that a ‘Samadhan Shivir’ be held in the civic bodies from October 22, under which officials of the civic bodies would hold camps in their offices between 9 am and 11am. The initiative has been taken for promptly addressing public grievances.
As per the officials, most of the complaints were related to property IDs, followed by land, encroachment, building branch and other departments.
“We try to resolve the issues at the spot, but in some cases there is a requirement of field visit. We are trying to resolve all complaints in a time bound manner. Cases related to other matters except encroachment will be resolved in a week,” said Niraj Kadiyan, Commissioner, KMC.
He said officials of all branches sit in the conference hall to assist the complainants.
On Monday, they received 14 complaints. Of them, nine were resolved at the spot, while the remaining five have been assigned for resolution within a specific timeframe, with instructions issued to relevant officials and staff, said the Commissioner.
Commissioner Kadiyan emphasised that each complaint received at the "Samadhan Shivir" camps should be taken seriously and swift solutions should be provided to citizens. He directed all branch heads to expedite the resolution process and ensure any pending issues are addressed promptly. If a complaint cannot be resolved immediately, the officials must ensure it is addressed within a designated time period.
“People can come to the conference hall of the KMC to raise their issues between 9am and 11am,” he said.
