Karnal district BJP unit likely to achieve its membership target
The Karnal BJP unit is likely to achieve the party's membership target of enrolling 2.5 lakh members. Till Sunday afternoon, the party district unit had enrolled 1,92,592 members, with two days remaining before the December 10 deadline. However, party leaders anticipate that the deadline may be extended to maximise the outreach of membership drive.
“We are confident of meeting our target within the remaining two days,” said BJP Gupta, district president. He highlighted the collective efforts of the party workers and leaders to strengthen BJP’s base in Karnal.
The Karnal Assembly segment is leading the tally with enrolling 74,501 members, followed by Indri (38,414), Assandh (30,781), Nilokheri (27,813) and Gharaunda (21,083), Gupta added.
The membership drive is a regular feature of the BJP. All party leaders of the district, including Karnal MP and Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, district president Brij Gupta, Gharaunda MLA and Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, Gharaunda MLA Yoginder Rana, Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap, Nilokheri MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, former Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, office-bearers of different bodies of the district, block, mandal, and others have been given targets. They along with party workers are mobilising their networks, reaching out to people to meet their targets.
Apart from holding meetings by the district president Gupta, Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Choudhary, Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam, and Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Arora and all five MLAs of the district held meetings with the party leaders and workers to motivate them to enroll maximum number of people under the party’s membership drive.
