Taking on the BJP on the issue of farmers, Congress MP from Rohtak Deepender Hooda alleged that the statement of BJP MP Kangana Ranaut reflected the “anti-farmer” mindset of the party.

Addressing an election rally in support of Congress candidate Chander Prakash Kabrel of Adampur segment, Deepender condemned the statement of Kangana Ranaut on agricultural laws that have been repealed by the BJP. Deepender said the BJP was trying to gauge the pulse of the farmers to know what their reaction would be by way of a statement from its MP.

He challenged all BJP MPs, who had the intention of bringing back the three agricultural laws stating that no power in the country could restore the repealed laws after the formation of the Congress government in Haryana.

Deepender termed the order of former Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to oust a youth who had come to his rally in Hisar as undemocratic and said that such acts had no place in democracy. “Union Minister Khattar would be happy that he has thrown out a youth from his meeting, but the public has resolved to throw the BJP out of power. This behaviour of former Chief Minister Khattar reflects the anti-youth mentality of the BJP,” he stated and added that there was no class left which had not been insulted in the 10-year tenure of the BJP government. He said the BJP government had thrown Haryana off the track of development and prosperity and had made it Number 1 in unemployment, crime, drug addiction and corruption. “Youth, frustrated by record unemployment, are losing their lives due to drug overdose. The law and order has deteriorated so much that ransom calls are coming from jails. New gangs are emerging in the state,” he stated.
