Vivek Joshi, an officer of the 1989 batch of the IAS, today took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Haryana.
Joshi succeeds Anurag Rastogi, who assumed charge as the Chief Secretary on November 1 as a 'stop-gap arrangement' till Joshi's joining in his parent cadre of Haryana. The regular Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad had retired on October 31.
The order appointing Joshi as Chief Secretary was issued on October 31.

Meanwhile, Joshi met Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who said with the combined efforts of "Team Haryana," the state would progress at an even faster pace. "We will establish new dimensions of non-stop development in Haryana," Saini added.
