JC Bose University Volleyball team shines
Faridabad: The team of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad have excelled in the Varchas Sports Fest organised by IIT-Jodhpur and brought laurels to the university by winning gold medal in volleyball competition. Athlete Vijay won a bronze medal in 200 metres race competition. The students have also participated and performed well in badminton, basketball, cricket and table tennis competitions in the fest. Vice Chancellor Prof SK Tomar and Registrar Dr SK Garg have congratulated the students on their achievement.
MMDU wins hackathon
Ambala: A team of four students Mohit Kumar, Gautam Goyal, Padmalaya Rawal, and Sakshi Agarwal of Maharishi Markandeshwar Deemed to be University, Mullana, under the mentorship of Vishal Gupta, Assistant Professor, CSE Department, participated and won forst prize in the national-level Hackathon organised by the Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune. They have been awarded prize money of Rs 1 lakh and won a trophy. The four students of MMEC submitted their idea in the form of a PPT after which 13 teams were selected for the final round and were invited to Pune. For 30 continuous hours, the teams competed with each other. The team created a virtual simulation device that was very useful for medical practitioners as it createed a virtual human body in front of the person and could even perform virtual surgery on it using a handheld hardware controller named VIFE. It is a device that can bring a marvelous change in the medical sector and will help doctors perform surgery virtually. This device includes hardware, software, and virtual reality.
Sports Contest at G’gram varsity
Gurugram: Gurugram University hosted an inter-department volleyball and table tennis sports competition on Friday. The competition was organised by Gurugram University’s sports department and was held at the university’s sports ground. The university’s management A, management B, mathematics, BTech, Law, physiotherapy A, physiotherapy B, pharmacy, physics, engineering, departments competed in the competitions. Prof Dinesh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Gurugram University, was the chief guest, who kicked off the events. The players demonstrated stamina and enthusiasm during the inter-departmental sports competition, which included matches of table tennis, volleyball, and other sports. In the volleyball competition, management B defeated mathematics and management A defeated pharmacy to advance to the final. The management B team won the final volleyball match between management A and management B. Saloni and Akshans won table tennis competition, while Chakshu and Anjali finished second.
