A team from the District Town Planner (DTP) department, enforcement and vigilance, demolished 11 illegal structures, including six completed houses, in an area near Baselwa Colony in Greater Faridabad today.

The structures had been constructed without authorisation on five to six acres near the developed residential Sectors 86 and 87, according to sources.

DTP, Enforcement Officer, Rajender Sharma said this was the second demolition at this location within the past eight months, as illegal constructions had reappeared on land where no permission or CLU (Change of Land Use) was obtained from the state government.

The structures demolished on Wednesday included six completed houses, four under-construction residential buildings and a developer’s office in the colony. Sharma added that the department would also dismantle other facilities such as approach roads or passages created by the developer near established residential societies.

Cases have been filed against at least seven landowners involved in the illegal constructions, which reappeared despite a demolition drive in February this year and prior notices to landowners.

All razed structures were reportedly unoccupied. Sharma said the crackdown on unauthorised construction would continue, and the department has also posted notices throughout the district, advising residents not to purchase plots or land without an NOC from the relevant department.
