IAS aspirant thrashed in Gurugram bar
An IAS aspirant has been allegedly thrashed by a group of men and a woman following a brawl at a bar in Sector 29 here. They also allegedly threatened to kill him. A native of Gujarat, the student is taking coaching from an institute in Rajinder Nagar, Delhi. He had come to the bar with his friends.
The injured student was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi and an FIR was registered at the Sector 29 police station on Friday.
According to a complaint filed by Sunil Chaudhary, a resident of Tukwara in Gujarat, the incident occurred on November 20 when he went to a bar with his friends, Pawan and Dikshant, for a party. After the party, as they reached the ground floor, they encountered a group of young men and women who appeared intoxicated. An argument broke out over an issue, which escalated into a physical fight.
“They were calling each other Sahil, Arvind and Pooja,” Sunil stated in his complaint. “After managing to save myself, I tried to leave, but they blocked my way again. I was severely beaten and threatened with death. I eventually lost consciousness, and my friends admitted me to the hospital. Once I recovered, I filed this complaint,” he stated in the complaint.
Based on his complaint, an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A senior police officer confirmed that CCTV footage from the bar is being reviewed, and the accused will be arrested soon.
