HSVP fails to act against political leader over illegal parking in Gurugram
Not giving two hoots to the notice issued by the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) 15 days ago, local political leader Naveen Goyal has failed to rectify his house’s plinth level and remove illegal private parking. He has been accused of having encroached upon the road to create an unauthorised parking space.
According to the notice, Goyal was given time till October 26 to put things in order at his Sector 17 residence, but with the deadline now expired, no action has been initiated so far.
A senior HSVP official said the department was caught up in an ongoing change of officers and the festive season, but assured that a survey would soon be conducted to determine whether Goyal had complied with the directives. Many other houses in his vicinity, including those of politicians, industrialists and others, also have raised plinth levels.
The RWA, meanwhile, has urged the HSVP to take action on the usage of Goyal’s residential premises for commercial purposes, citing it as a key issue. “We have been objecting for months to his personal house being used as a political office. He receives many visitors during the day, leading to littering and parking chaos. We were told the issue would be resolved after the polls, but even though he lost, the problems remain the same,” said Rakesh Jinsi, president of the RWA, Sector 17-A.
“We will conduct an on-ground survey soon, and in case of non-compliance, we will initiate action as per the law,” said a senior HSVP official.
