Karnal: Maharana Pratap Horticultural University has signed two important memorandum of understandings (MoUS) one with Varaha Climate Ag and another with Iotechworld Avigation Private Limited. Prof Samar Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap Horticultural University and Dr Satinder Yadav signed the MOU with Deepak Bhardwaj, Director and co-founder of Iotechworld. The objective of this MOU is to develop training course on agri-drone pilots in Haryana as per the DGCA norms by remote pilot training organisation (RPTO). Further, educate farmers and jointly establish training centres for providing training on drones and finally give licence to farmers for flying drones. Another MoU was signed by Dr Ramesh Goyal, Director (Research), Dr Pawan Kumar, Environmental Scientist and Madhur Jain, CEO, Varaha Climate Ag. The objective of MoU is to educate students and to meet the need of enterprising farming community of Haryana in field of carbon credit. TNS

Workshop on building research models

Gurugram: Under the faculty development programme, Gurugram University’s Management Department hosted a one-day workshop on the topic “From ideas to building research models to publishing articles”. A large number of university researchers participated in the workshop. Dr Sanjay Kumar, Professor, Information and Decision Science, Valparaiso University, USA, and Dr Jiangxia (Renee) Liu, Associate Professor, Accounting, Valparaiso University, USA, were the keynote speakers at the workshop. Prof Dinesh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Gurugram University, presided over the event. Dr Sanjay Kumar emphasised on the importance of creative ideas in writing an influential research paper. He also taught students about characteristics of writing and publishing a good research paper. Dr Renee gave a detailed presentation to students about the importance and utility of management research. TNS

Jat College to introduce new courses

Rohtak: All India Jat Heroes Memorial College would introduce five new postgraduation (PG) courses from the new academic session as the Department of Higher Education has accorded approval for the same. Dr Mahesh Khayalia, Principal, said, “These courses include MA (Hindi), MA (History), MA (Yoga), MSc (Zoology) and PG diploma in yoga. Besides, the department has also permitted the college to enhance seats in MSc (Botany), MCom, MA (Geography), MA (English) and BSc (Sports Science).” “The college is already running 10 PG courses,” informed Dr Jasmer Hooda, head, Journalism and Mass Communication Department. NIT diamond jubilee logo released

Kurukshetra: The NIT has entered 60th year of its establishment. A special programme was organised at the Senate hall of the institute. Prof BV Ramana Reddy, Director, NIT, Kurukshetra, released the diamond jubilee logo and calendar of events on the occasion. The whole celebration will be accompanied by yearlong (July 1, 2022, – June 30, 2023) events to be organised at the NIT. Diamond jubilee logo was designed by students and winners’ names were announced during programme. The first prize was given to Deepanshu Vishwakarma while the second and third prize was given to Hardik and Dev Bansal.
