A pregnant woman, identified as Harjeet Kaur, was hit by a speeding bike minutes after being released on bail in Sirsa. The accident occurred right in front of the jail as she was crossing the road to meet her husband, Baljinder Singh, who was waiting for her.

Harjeet, a resident of Ellenabad’s Ward No. 6, had been arrested a month earlier by the Sirsa police on the charge of drug trafficking. On Thursday, she was granted bail, and as she stepped out of the jail and crossed the road, a speeding bike rammed into her, causing severe injuries.

Her husband Baljinder immediately took her to the Civil Hospital. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she was referred to Agroha Medical College for further treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries.
