BJP leader and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has stated that the Congress government in their state has no funds to give salaries and pensions.

“The Congress leaders had given 10 guarantees to the people of Himachal Pradesh. However, the Congress regime, which is going to complete two years in power, has not been unable to fulfil any of its guarantees,” Thakur said while addressing a news conference in Rohtak on Tuesday.

He pointed out that the guarantees of giving government jobs to the youth, Rs 1,500 per month to women and free-of-cost electricity up to 300 units had not materialised in Himachal Pradesh so far.

“The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister had stated that the state government had started giving Rs 1,500 per month to the women, but when the women were contacted, they said none of them had received the amount,” said Thakur.

He further said the Congress government had not kept its promise of giving 300 units of electricity free of cost, pointing out that even the scheme to give 125 units of power free of cost had been discontinued and the power tariff increased up to three times.

The former Chief Minister asked the voters of Haryana not to get lured by the promises being made to them by the Congress leaders. In response to a query, Thakur said there would be no impact of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s yatras in Haryana on the state Assembly elections.
