Haryana Agricultural University conducts entrance exams
Hisar: Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University conducted the second phase of the entrance examination for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The exam was conducted for admission to BFSc, BSc in agriculture, MSc in agriculture, MTech in agricultural engineering, MFSc and MSc in community science. Registrar Balwan Singh Mandal visited the examination centres and reviewed the arrangements made for the smooth conduct of the exam. Controller of Examinations Pawan Kumar said as many as 4,294 students had applied online for admission in these courses and 3,886 candidates had appeared for the examination.
Sustainable animal health convention
Hisar: Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, along with National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (India) will organise the 22nd national convocation-cum-scientific convention on “Sustainable animal health and production: Exploring challenges and priorities” on November 29 and 30. Vice-Chancellor Vinod Kumar Verma said the event would make its mark in the development of veterinary sciences and animal husbandry in the country. College of Veterinary Sciences Dean Gulshan Narang said renowned veterinary professionals, scientists and students from different universities would take part in the programme. He said four technical sessions in different areas of animal health and production would be organised during the convention.
Training on horticulture crops
Sonepat: A one-day training camp on “Production technology of horticultural crops” was held at Regional Mushroom Research Centre, Murthal, of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University, Karnal. Vice-Chancellor Suresh Malhotra said over 50 farmers participated in the camp. District Horticulture Officer Rajesh Kumar said the government had offered many beneficial schemes for farmers of horticulture crops. He said the government offered subsidies on beekeeping and the farmers could earn profits by beekeeping. MHU provides training in mushroom farming so that farmers can earn more profit by cultivating mushrooms. There is a huge demand for mushrooms in the country and state. However, the production is not in accordance with the demand.
