He further said the state government was working hard to promote solar water pumps and is giving subsidy up to 75% to farmers. He said Haryana stood at number one in terms of usage of solar water pumps in the country. He also invited industries to participate in the energy conservation awards organised by the HAREDA.

Earlier, Nischay Behl, co-convener, Tourism and Hospitality Committee, Punjab State Chapter of PHDCCI, said in today’s time energy security and climate change were paramount and the government’s proactive stance on renewable energy, particularly solar power, was both timely and visionary.

Parv Arora, convener, Regional Solar and Power Committee, PHDCCI, raised issues related to net metering and disbursement of subsidy for installation of solar rooftops in the state. He suggested that the Power Department should appoint district-level officers to resolve the net metering issues.

Bharti Sood, Regional Director, PHDCCI, said it worked as a bridge between industry and governments.
