Haryana Govt will work three times faster in third term: PM in Panipat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the Bima Sakhi initiative of the state-owned LIC under which two lakh women insurance agents will be appointed over the next three years.

- Under Bima Sakhi scheme, 2 lakh women aged 18-70 years will be appointed insurance agents
- They will get training and stipend for the first three years to promote insurance awareness
- Besides commission, they will get Rs 7,000/month in first year, Rs 6,000 in 2nd year and Rs 5,000 in 3rd year
Addressing a gathering here, Modi recalled the launch of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign from Panipat in 2015. He said the campaign had a significant impact on Haryana and the entire country. In Haryana alone, the lives of thousands of daughters were saved in the last decade, he said.
After starting his speech with “Haryana ke saare behn bhaiyan nai Ram Ram”, PM Modi said India was taking another strong step towards women empowerment today. He said women, who once remained uninsured, were now empowered to educate others about buying insurance policies and providing them social security cover. “The Bima Sakhi scheme will propel the country towards meeting its goal of insurance for all by 2047,” he said. The PM lauded the people of Haryana for believing in “ek hain to safe hain” slogan and bringing the BJP to power for the third time in a row. He said the Saini government was getting accolades after thousands got permanent jobs without “parchi and kharchi”. He assured the people of Haryana that the double engine BJP government would work three times faster in its third term.
On the welfare of farmers, the PM underscored that in the first two terms, the farmers of Haryana received more than Rs 1.25 lakh crore as MSP, while after the formation of BJP the government for the third time in Haryana, Rs 14,000 crore was given to paddy, millet and moong farmers as MSP.
The PM laid the stone of a Rs 700 crore campus of Maharana Pratap Horticulture University in Karnal. Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, CM Nayab Singh Saini, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and ministers Shruti Choudhry and Aarti Rao were present on the occasion.
