Haryana Governor’s Address a ‘visionless’ document, alleges Opposition
Terming the Governor’s Address a ‘visionless document’, the Congress and the INLD today tried to put the BJP government on the mat on a variety of issues, including rising crime, unemployment, inflation, false promises and lack of development across Haryana. However, the BJP members hailed the Governor’s Address as ‘visionary’ document aimed at taking Haryana towards the goal of “Viksit Bharat”.
Initiating discussion for the Congress, former Speaker Ashok Arora alleged that farmers were at the receiving end in view of the acute shortage of DAP fertiliser and penalties such as FIRs, fines and blacklisting on the farm portals for stubble burning.
Alleging that the address had no vision for the the future, Arora claimed that it merely listed the BJP government’s so-called ‘achievements” in the past 10 years. Launching a scathing attack on the BJP government, Congress’ Nuh MLA Aftab Ahmed alleged that the BJP rule could best be descried as the regime of ‘failed promises’. He alleged repeated discrimination with the Mewat area in the execution of the projects announced several years ago.”The development has taken a back seat in Haryana under the BJP rule,” he alleged.
Congress' Geeta Bhukkal termed Haryana Government’s notification on sub-classification of the SCs for government jobs as a “divide and rule” policy. Minister Krishan Bedi took strong exception to Bhukkal’s allegations.
Badli MLA Kuldeep Vats alleged that crime, corruption and drug addiction had ruled the roost in Haryana during BJP’s 10-year regime. "The state residents are virtually living in fear with murder, dacoities and extortions the order of the day,” he alleged.
Kaithal MLA Aditya Surjewala alleged in view of hardly any job opportunities in Haryana, the state youth was emigrating to other countries, sometimes by adopting illegal means. Meanwhile, INLD’s Rania MLA Arjun Chautala came down heavily on the BJP government on a variety of issues, including health services, DAP shortage and the rising crime graph.
Earlier, moving the motion of thanks for the Governor’s Address, Mool Chand Sharma, senior BJP MLA from Ballabhgarh, claimed that the address provided a vision for the future for the state. Sharma claimed that provision of jobs to state’s youth on ‘no parchi, no kharchi’ (no cash for jobs) had been a trendsetter in the state infamous for favouritism in the job recruitments.”Under the BJP government, the state is on a higher trajectory of growth,” Sharma asserted.
