Haryana government mulls cadre-wise reservation for promotion

Rohtak, June 12

Now, the Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh will be known as Sant Kabir Kutir. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made this announcement at a state-level Sant Kabir Das Jayant Samaroh held at New Grain Market here today.

The Chief Minister also announced to make a provision of cadre-wise reservation during promotion to government employees on the pattern of the Centre, besides providing library facility at educational institutes and dharamshalas across the state.

“The Education Department will make arrangements for a library in all educational institutions and dharamshalas belonging to any caste if a room is available there. Besides, 75 per cent subsidy will also be provided for setting up 5 KW solar plants in dharamshalas of all communities,” the Chief Minister said.

He said talks would also be held with the Centre for reservation in NITs and IITs.

Moreover, railway fare would be given to everyone who wants to travel to Varanasi, the birthplace of Sant Kabir, the Chief Minister said, adding that an institution in the state would be named after Sant Kabir, he added.

“Sant Kabir Das was a strong supporter of religious unity. His teachings are the heritage of society,” the Chief Minister said.

Additional Principal Secretary to the CM and Director General (Public Relations) Dr Amit Aggarwal presented Kabir literature compiled by his department to the CM on the occasion.
