Faridabad: A kind of political tussle has emerged between two leaders of the ruling BJP here over credit for installation of statues and busts of some of the historical figures in the city. These were installed a couple of months ahead of the last Assembly elections by the then MLA. The tussle emerged after the removal of the name of the former MLA and attempts to put the name of the incumbent MLA. This move has led to a kind of a 'clash' between the two leaders, it is claimed. The matter has reportedly been brought to the notice of the higher functionaries of the party, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, according to sources.

Transfer anxiety grips officers

Yamunanagar: After the formation of the new government in Haryana, officers are being transferred and posted to different departments continuously. The officers, who have been posted in the district for long, are a worried lot. Some of them are even either making rounds of senior local BJP leaders or going to Chandigarh to meet ministers and senior officers to ensure they are not shifted to a new location. Many officers are hopeful that they will not be transferred. However, officers who don’t have much hope are feeling restless and are not able to show much interest in their official work.

Happy birthday, Hisar Gaurav!

Hisar: The cloned Murrah bull, Hisar Gaurav, marked its 10th birthday on December 10 at the Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes (CIRB) in Hisar. Born on December 11, 2015, Hisar Gaurav is a clone of PT bull 4354, prepared through CIRB’s pioneering efforts in bovine research. Hisar Gaurav has made remarkable contributions to India’s dairy sector as it has produced 22,000 doses of high-quality semen, which have been used extensively in artificial insemination programmes to enhance milk production. The resulting offspring have demonstrated significant improvement in milk yield, producing between 300 to 600 litres of milk per pregnancy.
