Haryana CM okays Rs 45.49 cr for infra projects in Barwala, Kaithal, Kalanwali towns
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini granted administrative approval for a series of major infrastructure projects totaling Rs 45.49 crore in Barwala, Kaithal and Kalanwali towns on Saturday.
These initiatives are designed to enhance the sewerage, restore roads and upgrade essential urban facilities, underscoring the government’s ongoing commitment to improving public services and urban infrastructure.
A comprehensive project has been approved to install sewer lines in uncovered streets across the identified areas of Barwala town. This initiative will extend to several wards, including wards 1, 2, 8, 10 and 16. By addressing gaps in the existing sewerage network, the project aims to provide efficient wastewater management, benefitting a large portion of the town’s population. The project has been allocated approximately Rs 4.70 crore.
To ensure the efficient operation of the current sewerage infrastructure, advanced super suction de-silting machines will be used to clean the sewer lines across Barwala town. This modern cleaning method will improve the efficiency of the sewer system, prevent blockages, and enhance overall sanitation. The cleaning project has been sanctioned at a cost of nearly Rs 4.12 crore.
Kaithal town will undergo road restoration in areas impacted by the installation of sewer systems. This project focuses on repairing stretches of roads that were damaged during sewerage work, ensuring safe and smooth transportation. It aims to address public grievances regarding road conditions. A budget of around Rs 7.73 crore has been allocated for the restoration work.
In Kalanwali town, a key pipeline project has been approved high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes. This pipeline will connect the existing 9.50 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) to the Ruri Ghaggar drain near Phaggu village. The project is expected to significantly improve wastewater management, adhering to environmental and public health standards. With an investment of around Rs 28.94 crore, it is the largest of the approved initiatives.
An official spokesperson said these projects were aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents in the targeted towns.
