Haryana BJP MLAs to meet on Wednesday to elect state legislature party leader
The meeting of the Haryana BJP MLAs to elect the state legislature party leader will be held on Wednesday.
Nayab Singh Saini, who replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as the chief minister of Haryana in March, was the BJP's chief ministerial face in the state assembly polls, and is likely to be the CM choice.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are the central observers for the election of the state legislature party leader in Haryana.
The meeting, which will be held in the party office in Panchkula, will elect the state legislature party leader, Saini and state BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli told reporters here.
Saini and Badoli along with Union minister Krishan Pal Gurjar, BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde and party's Haryana affairs in-charge Satish Poonia held a meeting to take stock of preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the new party-led government in the state slated for October 17.
Replying to a question, Badoli said while Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers, chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states and NDA partners will attend the oath-taking function in Panchkula on Thursday, opposition leaders of various parties, "progressive farmers", 'Lakhpati Didis' and people from various social organisations have also been invited.
Badoli said Valmiki Jayanti also falls on October 17, the day when the new government will be sworn in.
