The Maharaja Agrasen Airport, Hisar, is set to get into a new phase with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Haryana Government and the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to develop the aviation hub on 2,988 acres in the airport at an estimated grant of Rs 10.53 crore.

The MoU was signed between Haryana Airport Development Corporation (HADC) and USTDA in presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and US Ambassador Eric Garcetti New Delhi today. The ambitious project aims at development of an integrated aviation hub, including Hisar airport operations, integrated manufacturing cluster, world port cargo logistic hub, maintenance-repair-operations (MRO) facility, entertainment village, etc.

The aviation hub on 2,988 acres in the Maharaja Agrasen Airport, Hisar, will be developed at an estimated grant of Rs 10.53 crore. USTDA will work for attracting the financial investors, integrate all aspects of the project at the airport, packaging individual projects for development and execution. It has set a deadline of two years for the completion of the project.

Terming it as a significant step forward in the state’s aviation sector, the Chief Minister said it reflected the growing reputation as a hub for global investors. He emphasised that this partnership underscores the state’s commitment to innovation and cooperation. He said Haryana is the first choice for global investors due to its progressive vision and robust infrastructure adding that agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter in Haryana's aviation and logistics development.

Saini said the agreement would elevate Haryana’s aviation sector while fostering long-term economic growth and innovation. He said the collaboration with USTDA aligned with India's strategic goals in infrastructure development. "It promises to create numerous employment opportunities in Haryana, solidifying the state’s role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India," he said.

US Ambassador Eric Garcetti described the MoU as a milestone in strengthening ties between Haryana and the US in civil aviation. He commended India’s rapid growth in infrastructure and highlighted this collaboration as a vital link in global development. The event was attended by senior dignitaries, including Rajesh Khullar, Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and D Suresh, Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhawan, among others.
