Gurugram MC chief orders action against 2 engineers for negligence in duty
Gurugram MC Commissioner Ashok Kumar Garg on Monday ordered to issue show cause notices to an assistant executive engineer and a junior engineer for negligence in duty, particularly for failing to address public grievances.
While presiding over ‘samadhan shivir’ organised in his office on Monday, Garg said negligence in public works would not be tolerated and action would be taken against officers and employees for negligence in duty.
While hearing a complaint related to an illegal construction in Jharsa village, the Commissioner issued instructions to the competent authorities to issue show-cause notice to an Assistant Executive Engineer (Enforcement) Krishan Kumar for not responding to public complaints.
Rahul Kumar, a local resident, told the Commissioner that his neighbour was carrying out illegal construction for the past several months.
“I have been complaining about it every week since September 10, but no action has been taken by the officials concerned,” he said.
The Commissioner spoke to Krishan Kumar over the phone and inquired about the complaint, but he could not give a satisfactory reply. Following which, the Commissioner ordered to issue a show cause notice and conduct a departmental inquiry against the said engineer of the enforcement wing.
During the hearing of another complaint, women told the Commissioner that the junior engineer of their area, Milan Yadav, did not answer phone calls to respond to their complaints.
The Commissioner asked the women to call the JE in front of him. Despite repeated calls, the junior engineer did not answer the calls. Perturbed over this, the Commissioner ordered to issue a show cause notice to the junior engineer.
According to the complaint, the women told the Commissioner that a security wall of the park located in Indira Colony-1 has been broken by some people. As a result, movement of anti-social elements in the park had increased in the past couple of months. People have also started parking vehicles in the park. Despite several complaints, the JE neither take any action nor answer phone calls.
