Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar has issued directions to the authorities concerned to ensure zero tolerance against illegal mining anywhere in the Aravali range of Gurugram district.

Kumar, while attending a meeting of anti-mining task force, said a lot of effort had gone in making Gurugram mining free and the authorities should ensure that there is no lapse.

“Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) concerned should form joint teams with the Pollution Control Board, Police Department and Mining Department in their respective subdivisions and conduct surprise inspection of the Aravali area. If there any complaint regarding any kind of illegal construction or mining, a legal action should be taken to stop it,” the DC said.

The DC said at present there were 32 stone crushers and seven brick kilns in the Naurangpur, Raisina and Pataudi areas of the district. All of them had been instructed to stop work due to the implementation of GRAP-4. If any crusher or brick-kiln was found functional, it would be sealed immediately.

“There should be no illegal mining in the district. The guilty should not be let off by merely imposing a fine,” he said.
