To boost voter turnout in the Haryana Assembly elections on October 5, Dr Manmeet Kumar, the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) Women’s Ambassador for the district administration, is spearheading the voter awareness campaign in Gurugram. In a video message released as part of the campaign, Dr Kumar emphasised asked people to leave all work aside on October 5 and head to polling stations.

Under the leadership of DC Nishant Kumar Yadav, the administration has organised various activities across schools, colleges and public spaces to spread awareness about the importance of voting. Civil Defense volunteers have also joined the effort, visiting local markets to personally engage with residents.

According to Bijender Kumar, the District Information and Public Relations Officer, 20 buses operating on local routes from the Gurugram depot have been branded with the slogan “Chunav Ka Parv, Pradesh Ka Garv” to remind citizens to vote on October 5.

Short films developed by the department in collaboration with the Election Commission are also being screened in various public spaces.
